Generally when looking for new clothes we have a good idea of how to buy clothes that will suit us: The two most important guidelines are (i) does it have good fit and (ii) does the color match my skin tone? When we applying these guidelines to clothes shopping we can be confident that we will walk out of a shop with a suitable item of clothing.
But how do we buy jewelry (jewellery)? Are there any rules for buying jewelry (jewellery)? How do we know which jewelry (jewellery) will look good on us?
Part 1 - How to Wear Necklaces
The two factors which influence your choice of necklace are neck and breasts. As with clothing, we need to ask ourselves does it fit? Is the necklace in proportion with our necks and chests? This is far more important that just choosing an item of jewelry (jewellery) that is fashionable. In fact, Mochishop would prefer to buck the trend and advise you never to buy any item of jewelry (jewellery) solely because of its current en vogue status. Fashion for fashion's sake can have hideous or laughable results.
Loosely speaking, if your neck is long then you can wear chokers or long, draping necklaces. If you have a shorter neck then you need a necklace which is roughly midway between choker and long, draping necklace. A chocker on a short neck will draw attention to the shortness of the neck, whereas a choker on a swan-like neck will draw attention to your asset.

A fine necklace on a long neck will have the effect of making the neck appear weak. A fine necklace on a short neck serves to make the neck appear more delicate and in proportion.
If your breasts are large, then you don't want an extremely long, chunky necklace hanging over your bosom - otherwise there will be too much 'going on'. The breast and the chunky necklace will compete with one another for visual space. Much better to have a fine, delicate piece. If the necklace has a pendant, a smaller pendant would be more complimentary.

For smaller chested women, heavier, chunkier necklaces help to add definition. As your bosoms won't be overzealously competing with your necklace, you can afford to wear a lively, colorful item.
Finer necklaces shouldn't be worn over clothing. This is practical as well as sartorial. If you wear a thick, turtle-neck woolen jumper, you don't want your necklace snagging or picking up bits of lint. But, more than that, a fine necklace needs have the neck and chest as its background. This is expecially true if we assume that shorter-necked, larger-bosomed ladies are wearing scoop necklines or 'V' shaped necklines and which afford them some visual space to occupy.
Conversely, unlike a larger-chested lady, a smaller-chested lady can wear a dress with a plunging neckline. A plunging neckline is more suitable for long, draping 'V' shaped jewelry. As the 'V' of a plunging neckline is so pronounced, medium sized circular necklaces may look at odds with the neckline. That is, the 'V' shape of long, draping jewelry would compliment that the deep 'V' shaped plunging neckline.
