The necklace is made from dyed ox-bone 'segments' which are strung upon wax-finished cotton. These segments are either blanched white or dyed light and dark brown. The centrepiece of the necklace is a cylinder of ox-bone carved with Tibetan text. In Tibetan culture ox-bone is the symbol of longevity. It is also worn as protection. A very cool accessory, to set you apart from the crowd.
